The object of the organization is to encourage and promote women in the sport of yachting and create a spirit of good fellowship among members and fellow yachters. And to encourage women to become more actively involved in the sport of sailing by developing and improving their skills and confidence in the sport.

Cindy Kraus 2011 Sportsmanship Award from MBWSO

The MBWSO season Trophies were awarded during the Milwaukee YC Annual Awards Evening January 14, 2012. The Permanent Trophy “The Coast Guard Trophy” was presented to this year’s Season Overall Winner , “ Hot Butttered Bum” jointly Skippered by Pattie McMahon and Susie Rieck. They also secured First Place in Section One for the series. Section two first place went to Angie Klemm sailing her T-10 Eclipse.

Cindy Kraus skipper of J29 “ Relentless” was honored by her fellow MBWSO skippers with this years Sportsmanship award. Whitney Kent the 2011 Recipient and Fleet Captain Fran Aring, made the presentation.

Earlier in the off season, at the SSYC Awards Dinner The Lady of the Wind Trophy for the SSYC component of the Women’s Offshore Series was presented to Debbie Bruesiwitz skipper of T-10 “Women’s Prerogative”.
